This specific project is slated for a 12-month duration. The aspiring candidate should demonstrate foundational skills in the installation, assembly, and basic maintenance of mechanical piping systems. They should also possess an introductory understanding of piping system blueprints and layouts. This position requires foundational technical knowledge, a commitment to safety standards, and physical readiness.Core Proficiencies Required:

  • Technical Basics: Aspiring or beginning level of Apprentice Pipefitter with some experience or education in the field. Familiarity with essential tools, machinery, and basic safety practices related to the pipefitting profession. An ability to understand basic pipe system blueprints and structural designs.
  • Piping Basics: Initial experience or training in the assembly and maintenance of mechanical piping systems.
  • Physical Preparedness: Ability to handle tools, some heavy equipment, and materials. Comfortable with standing, bending, and kneeling for durations.
  • Safety Awareness: Basic understanding and adherence to safety guidelines and regulations. Knowledge of essential safety gear and its appropriate usage.
  • Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and superiors.
  • Educational Credentials: A minimum of a Grade 12 education or its equivalent.
Key Duties:
  • Assist in the installation, assembly, and maintenance of mechanical piping systems under supervision.
  • Learn to interpret pipe system blueprints and basic structural illustrations.
  • Utilize tools and some machinery under guidance.
  • Learn and assist in inspecting installed pipe systems and pipelines.
  • Follow all provided safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and superiors to complete tasks.
  • Undertake other duties as instructed and guided.
Operational Environment:
  • The position may require working in diverse weather conditions, occasionally at heights, and possibly in confined spaces.
  • The role entails physical tasks such as lifting and handling tools and machinery.
  • Usage of safety gear is compulsory during work hours.
