Pharmacy Assistant (AH-21-135) Apply Now Competition #: AH-21-135 Facility/Program: Boundary Trails Health Centre Location: Morden-Winkler Position Type: Casual Position Status: Casual FTE: Casual Hours of Work: 7.5 hour shifts Shift(s): Days / Weekends Union: MGEU Prof Tech Start Date: As soon as possible Closing Date: Open until filled Position Summary The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible to the Regional Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy site Managers and provides services in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures, professional regulations and standards and Provincial and Federal statutes. Principle functions will be to provide drug distribution services, including sterile compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous drugs, for inpatients and outpatients at the Boundary Trails Health Centre and affiliate sites.The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.Travel will be required to other Southern Health-Santé Sud sites.QualificationsGrade XII Certificate from a recognized Pharmacy Technician Course Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred Basic computer experience is required Typing Skills (minimum 40wpm) Basic math and accounting skills Must possess effective written and oral communications skills A sound knowledge of both official languages is required for bilingual facilities Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work harmoniously with others Ability to exercise good judgment and to maintain confidentiality Ability to work independently and with an accurate attention to detail Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums Good work and attendance record Conditions of EmploymentRequires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00 Apply Now Southern Health-Santé Sud, in partnership with the Indigenous community, is committed to increasing the representation of Indigenous people within all levels of our workforce.
