Branch SupervisorMount Pearl, NFLDFull TimeReference Number: CAN-ATL-MTP-129-081122SUMMARYReporting to the General Manager – Atlantic Region, the Branch Supervisor helps implement the strategic direction for the branch. The position focuses on the management of internal business processes to support all functions within the branch. The Branch Supervisor’s responsibilities are categorized into four areas: financial, operations, people management, and safety. The position manages inside sales, warehouse operations, and branch administration.RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial

  • Under the guidance of the General Manager based in Dartmouth, accountable for the profit/loss of the Mount Pearl branch.
  • Works with the General Manager to ensure the achievement of branch targets.
  • Implements short- and long-term strategic plans for the branch to ensure branch goals and annual targets are achieved.
  • Plans and establishes systems to control expenses at the branch location.
Operations / Administration / Safety
  • Provides the strategic direction to achieve and maintain a safe and efficient warehouse.
  • Provides support to the operations team as required and ensures compliance with established processes and policies.
  • Collaborates with Administration to ensure proper workflow and compliance with established processes and policies.
  • Creates and maintains a positive work environment.
People ManagementThe Branch Supervisor is directly responsible for four employees.
  • Creates and maintains a positive, productive, and transparent work environment and team atmosphere.
  • Manages and develops direct reports.
  • Conducts performance assessments on a regular basis.
  • Addresses employee issues in a fair and consistent manner, working closely with Human Resources.
  • Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintains them over time.
RequirementsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESExperience
  • A track record of success as an accomplished supervisor/manager with proficiency in supervising a small to mid-sized business
Education
  • High School graduation
  • Post-secondary education in business or building industry is preferred
Supervisor / Leadership Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, inspire, and lead a team
  • Delegates effectively and monitors the team to ensure they have the skills and resources to meet deadlines and commitments
  • Accepts accountability for results and embraces change
  • Effective with people management skills
Computers
  • Very comfortable with technology, proficient with Word, Excel, and ERP systems
