Job Description

Project CoordinatorWhat we do: Horseshoe Hill Construction Inc. is a national general contractor specializing in concrete construction/rehabilitation and specialty concrete works.We currently have an opening for a motivated Project Coordinator.We are looking for individuals who value safety, teamwork and lead by example. Rate of pay will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.Applicants are required to show proficiency in;

  • Analyzing Information,
  • Project Planning / Site operation Coordination,
  • Provincial Safety Regulations and Training Requirements,
  • Productive multi-tasking in fast paced environments,
  • Estimating & Standard Contract Procedures, and
  • Experience in Vendor Negotiations.
  • Job Type: Full-time/Seasonal with Potential for long-term employment and career advancement. Wage will be negotiated based on experience.
Responsibilities: As a Project Coordinator for HHC, your primary responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
  • Assist with the Day-to-Day management and scheduling of site activities – labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors.
  • Assist with site reporting requirements – payroll, safety documentation, equipment tracking, look-a-heads etc.
  • Assist the Management Team by coordinating the delivery to site of all materials and equipment in a timely manner and as required by the project schedule.
  • Manage and implement the quality control Plan (QCP) and planning requirements/transmittals required by contract for a smooth project start-up.
  • Assist with the pricing requirements for tenders, active projects, change orders that arise on projects.
  • Review quantities and payment particulars with the Sr. Management team throughout the project to ensure job costs are current and complete cost/budget reviews monthly with Site Supervisors.
  • Ensure, in conjunction with Health and Safety Officer/administration, that all job site hazards are identified, signs posted, and all other project safety requirements are met.
  • Manage/Coordinate company H&S program requirements on site to ensure the project work is executed with highest of quality while insuring all Health, Safety & Environmental requirements are adhered to.
  • Ensure that all project management policies and procedures are adhered to including:
  • daily diaries
  • change order management
  • purchase orders
  • project photos
  • schedule updates
  • Additional Responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Successful Candidates will possess a minimum of 3 years of progressive Civil Bridge Rehabilitation experience in a supervisory/coordinator role and have the ability to read and understand project plans and scheduling documents.
  • Intermediate level Engineer/Technologist are encouraged to apply.
  • You must be able to work in fast paced environments and work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  • Experience with E-Sub Project Management Software is an asset.
  • CSO Experience
  • Provincial Safety Knowledge and Competency training. (WHMIS, Hazard Assessment Training, Incident Reporting etc.)
  • Preference will be given to applicants with COR training and Auditor Certification for the Province of Newfoundland
