Join our award-winning company and experience working at a Platinum Certified Canada’s Best Managed Company, and one of BC’s Top Employers.The Red Seal Technician will be responsible for the diagnosis and repair of Material Handling and Heavy-Duty equipment including electric power and internal combustion engine forklifts and other such equipment.What we offer:The Red Seal Technician is a union position, with an hourly wage of $46.87 and a pension contribution of $ 4.63 per hour.it also includes extended medical and dental coverage, along with top-tier holidays and vacations as per the Collective Agreement.Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosis and repair of equipment.
  • Perform routine scheduled Planned Maintenance (PM) services, appraisals and Safety Inspections.
  • Complete all necessary timecard and report documentation as required.
  • Complete shop or road work as required by Supervisor’s direction when required.
  • Communicate repair status and requirements with customers and Supervisors alike.
  • Excel the ‘customer experience’ by being professional at all times.
  • Order and track all parts request to meet the customer expectation.
  • Complete jobs, as assigned. Some out of town at customer site visits might be required.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to grow customer accounts while carrying out your duties.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Previous aerial and lift truck experience ideal but not essential.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to contribute positively to the team environment.
  • Willingness and desire to learn.
  • A proactive autonomous individual able to set own standards and succeed.
  • Physical capabilities necessary to perform duties of the position (liftingamp; mobility).
  • Must be willing to travel and complete jobs out of town as assigned.
Training, Education and Experience:
  • Red Seal Heavy-Duty Equipment or Automotive certification or equivalent experienced in small construction and material handling with consistent exceptional customer service skills.
  • General ability to carry out diagnostics and repairs on Spark Ignition LPG engines and systems, Compression Ignition engines, Hydraulic and electrical systems as well as reading schematics from each.

Working conditions: The position is based out of the Surrey branch and works 40 hours on average per week Monday to Friday.
