Powertech’sHydrogen Industry Technology and Testing (HIIT) department is the world leading test agency for high pressure components (tanks, valves, regulators, hoses, etc.) used in the natural gas and hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles.Clients include major automotive companies and their Tier 1 equipment suppliers worldwide.In addition, this department performs high pressure testing of components in the oilamp; gas, aerospace, and various other industries.As a member of the Hydrogen Industry Technology and Testing team, you will primarily provide support the team on specialized high pressure gas, hydraulic and fire testing for clients around the globe. Duties*Assembles hydrogen fill stations under the supervision of an engineer or technologist by following their verbal instructions and by referring to written processes and drawings. Uses a variety of materials, supplies, precision measuring devices and hand and power tools, following established techniques.*Fabricates metal components custom-designed or adapted for use in the assembly of hydrogen fill stations.*Performs high-pressure testing of assembled components.*Maintains work area in a safe and organized condition.*Maintains log books and files to document production procedures, equipment calibration, etc.*Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the job.Qualifications* Completion of a Certificate of Technology from an Institute of Technology ANDtwo (2) years of experience working as a Millwright apprentice OR two (2) years of related experience in a similar environment; -OR-* Four (4) years of related experience in a similar environment.In addition, the following skillset are desired:* Good working knowledge of fittings (tubing, plumbing, valves) used in the storage of hydrogen and other high pressure gases.* Fabrication skills (welding, machining) to manufacture custom-designed components.* Working knowledge of assembly techniques and tools used in the assembly of hydrogen fill stations.* Basic understanding of drawings and design specification documents.* Good knowledge of pressure testing standards and procedures.* Working knowledge of related safety and WHMIS regulations.* Use of electrical tools (hand grinders, drills, jig saw, circular saw, power hack saw)* Welding experience (mig minimum; tig and gas welding an asset)* Pipe bending an asset* This is a hands on role and requires recent experience doing hands on technical work* Must be able to work in confined space* Must be able to lift 50 lbs.* Must be able to work at heightsgt; 10 feet* Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license (in good standing)Job Code:CWA1ZZAffiliation:MoveUpJob Group:7Job location : Surrey, B.C.
