Job Description

Greenlight Innovation is the industry leader in the supply of hydrogen fuel cell and electrolyzer testing equipment. We are working closely with our customers to develop the next generation of clean hydrogen technology.We are growing and hiring a full time Health and Safety Manager to join our team in Burnaby. This role will manage Greenlight’s health and safety management systems and processes. This role will be located at our Burnaby facilities and is on-site.The H amp;S Manager will provide health and safety guidance and be responsible to ensure compliance of policies, standards, and jurisdictional regulations. This role will serve as a strategic business partner providing technical subject matter expertise and guidance on hazard recognition and risk mitigation controls through active engagement with front line leaders and workers.Responsibilities include:

  • Manage Greenlight Innovations Healthamp; Safety program.
  • Provide Health and Safety coaching to directors, managers and JHSC representatives.
  • Provide safety management system education and mentoring to leaders.
  • Prepare reports and related recommendations, develop measurable corrective actions, monitor for continuous improvement, and take appropriate action when safety policy, procedure or regulations are not being adhered to.
  • Implementation and maintenance of an ISO45001 Health and Safety management system or equivalent.
  • Maintain and manage safety documentation, databases, records, reports, KPI’s, trends, etc.
  • Monitor and advise on changes relating to Health and Safety regulations.
  • Conduct Safety Orientation for new employees as part of our onboarding process.
  • Chair the monthly Joint Occupational Healthamp; Safety meeting, safety inspections and follow up with corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and perform risk assessments.
  • Assist (in conjunction with HR), in coordinating lost time claims and return to work plans.
  • Review subcontractors’ health and safety program to ensure conformance Greenlights policies.
Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 3+ years of related work experience in a safety role.
  • NCSO and/or CRSP designations and/or completion of a degree/diploma in an accredited program in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Previous experience with ISO45001.
  • Strong knowledge of practices and regulations applicable to the manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety regulations for the province of BC (WorkSafeBC regulations and other applicable legislative requirements).
  • Experience in incident investigation causal analysis.
  • Skilled and experienced presenting and transferring knowledge related to safety.
  • Effective communicator with experience preparing and maintaining reports and records.
  • Ergonomic experience considered an asset.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
