What you #39;ll doWe are seeking a skilled IT Advisor to support the IT Services and Cybersecurity functions at Powertech Labs Inc. and Powertech USA. Reporting to the Snr IT Manager, this role is crucial for ensuring security and efficiency of our IT Infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will have a broad base of knowledge and experience across the data centre, endpoint devices, cloud services, and cybersecurity technologies, with an outgoing demeanor and exceptional customer service skills.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to outsourced service providers and ensure that the outsourcing team follows Powertech policies and guidelines and meet contractual requirements.
  • Review and approve Technology service requests, including accepting and reviewing the request, making approval decisions, tracking and communicating request approval status to requester, and ensuring timely closure.
  • Implement, monitor and manage security infrastructure, endpoint and cloud solutions to safeguard against cyber threats.
  • Monitor and manage vulnerabilities across the IT infrastructure, ensuring timely identification and remediation.
  • Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses, implementing corrective actions promptly.
  • Lead software asset management initiatives, including reviewing software license deployment and optimizing use of software assets.
  • Analyze infrastructure capacity and performance metrics, and support status based on hardware and software product lifecycle.
  • Oversee infrastructure upgrade and refresh initiatives and provide input from infrastructure and cybersecurity operations perspective.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of IT security policies, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide detailed recommendations and execute improvement opportunities in service request and other operational processes.
  • Collaborate with Powertech Labs and Powertech USA stakeholders and other Technology groups to ensure that operational and project Infrastructure needs are met.
  • Perform remote support for traveling and remote workers.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on operation processes, procedures and infrastructure environment documentation.
  • Oversee the review of project sustainment impact assessment and production turnover activities.
  • Engage and be a subject matter expert in infrastructure and cybersecurity operations invoice review, material acquisition, and budget management.
What you bring
  • University degree in Information Systems or similar.
  • Over 7 years relevant experience in IT Infrastructure technology concepts, including data center, system management, end point devices, cloud services, virtualization, storage, security and mobility. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), ITIL certification, CompTIA certification and (ISC)2 certification is desirable.
  • Verifiable work experience with the following security tool and technologies such as Checkpoint, Trellix, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco Firepower/ASA, Palo Alto Firewalls and Azure Sentinel
  • The ability to understand Powertech department IT infrastructure requirements
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity threats, risks, and mitigations
  • Strong customer focus with desire to deliver exceptional client service
  • Experience in 3rd party vendor management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate with a wide range of technical, non-technical and business audiences
