The RoleTribe is poised for growth and in preparation for this exciting phase, we are seeking an engaged, driven and experienced Senior Manager to join our Client Accounting team.The successful candidate will be based in the Vancouver area and be able to travel to the Delta office a minimum of three days per week. As the Senior Manager, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring the client accounting team and provide strategic leadership and direction to the department. The role will liaise with various accounting and client service management staff, the executive, and other relevant stakeholders. The role will contribute to the success of the team through effective communication and problem solving, as well as strategic leadership, planning, and decision-making that fosters team and company growth.Key Accountabilities

ResponsibilitiesPrimary
  • Lead and be accountable for all client financial accounting systems and processes
  • Oversee and ensure the delivery of timely, accurate financial reports to the client base and internal Tribe management
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the client accounting teams across the company
  • Accountable for developing a client risk management strategy for the accounting function
  • Ensure effective change management strategies are adopted throughout the department
  • Contribute proactively to enhancing the knowledge, skills and abilities of the team
  • Work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial reports to the client base and internal Tribe management
  • Ensure legislative, compliance and regulatory needs are met; and
  • Maintain a department wide “client - trust” fiduciary responsibility business model ensuring all staff conduct their work accordingly
  • Ensuring successful completion of trust audits
  • Plan and lead technological and system enhancements to drive efficiency
  • Conduct regular client accounting process management reviews to ensure systems, processes and procedures are followed and opportunities for improvement are identified and implemented
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews with the Accounting Manager to ensure workload balance and productivity
  • Ad hoc projects and initiatives, as assigned by the President and Group CFO
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience within roles of increasing complexity and responsibility. Industry experience with financial reporting will be prioritized (strata accounting experience preferred). CPA designation preferred.
  • Strong understanding and application of GAAP and full-cycle financial statement preparation
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong understanding and working experience with Yardi, or comparable industry software
  • Working knowledge on process improvement methodology
