Job Description

This is primarily an Order Picker role, that functions also as a back up driver covering sick calls and vacations. It works out to be about a 50/50 split over the year.The Order Picker is responsible for filling customer orders in the Warehouse, while meeting accuracy and productivity expectations. This position will be aware of all aspects of the general Warehouse operation, and may also be required to perform additional warehouse-related tasks as needed.Truck Drivers load and deliver orders to customers in a timely, efficient, and professional manner, providing customers with the high level of customer service that is expected of Horizon representatives. Truck Drivers are required to strictly follow safety protocols while performing their job.QUALIFICATIONS + EXPECTATIONS:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license, with a ‘clean’ driver’s record at least 1 year’s experience driving, preferably with delivery driving experience.
  • Class 3 driver’s license, and/or Air Brakes certificate are an asset.
  • Defensive driving or professional driving lessons and experience an asset.
  • Able to perform physically demanding work, including bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 50lbs, as needed.
  • Good customer service skills (friendly, professional, good communication).
  • Problem-solving abilities with ability to follow-up on details as required.
  • Good spatial conceptualizing, (ability to judge tight spaces for parking and loading).
  • Order Picking experience (case-sized items).
  • Solid attention to detail and experience palletizing product of varying shapes + sizes.
  • Ability to work independently and stay on track to meet productivity goals.
COMPENSATION + WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • This is a fulltime and permanent position with a set schedule of Tuesday to Saturday, 7am to 3pm during the week and 9am to 5pm on Saturday. Overtime as needed. The starting wage for Order Picking is $22.10/hour and $22.98/hour for Driving. We provide a paid 35-minute break.
  • We have scheduled wage increases based on hours worked and a company-wide Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) annual wage review.
  • Extended health + dental benefits after waiting period, 3-weeks vacation after one year, paid sick time, plus internal perks which include subsidies and discounts on product.
