Job Title: Truck Driver Dispatcher/Load PlannerLocation: Newmarket, ONJob Type: Full-timeAbout Us:Xan Systems is a leading trucking company committed to providing excellent transportation services to our customers while ensuring the safety and well-being of our drivers. We take pride in our dedicated team of professionals and are looking for a motivated and experienced Truck Driver Dispatcher/Load Planner to join our growing organization.Job Overview:The Truck Driver Dispatcher/Load Planner will be responsible for coordinating and managing the dispatch of drivers and planning efficient, cost-effective load assignments. This position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of dispatchers, drivers, and customers to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and manage the dispatch of drivers, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of loads.
  2. Develop and optimize load plans to maximize driver productivity, minimize empty miles, and reduce overall transportation costs.
  3. Monitor driver performance, hours of service, and route adherence, and adjust plans as necessary to address any issues or changes in customer requirements.
  4. Communicate effectively with drivers, providing clear instructions, addressing any concerns, and maintaining a positive and professional relationship.
  5. Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to ensure accurate and timely information on customer orders, special requests, and delivery requirements.
  6. Utilize transportation management software and other tools to track shipments, optimize routing, and maintain accurate records.
  7. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations and company policies.
  8. Proactively identify and address potential issues, such as delays, equipment breakdowns, or weather-related disruptions, to minimize their impact on operations.
  9. Provide regular updates to management on dispatch and load planning performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall service quality.
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor #39;s degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field is preferred.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in truck dispatching and/or load planning, preferably within the [specific industry, e.g., dry van, refrigerated, flatbed] sector.
  3. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and safety requirements.
  4. Proficient in using transportation management software and other technology tools.
  5. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  7. Strong customer service orientation and commitment to ensuring driver satisfaction.
