Our mission is to create a supportive and inclusive Ontario for autism and we value collaboration, respect, accountability and being evidence informed.Are you passionate about supporting individuals with Autism and making a difference in your community Autism Ontario is looking for a Program Facilitator to support our Central East Region.Job Summary:Title: Program Facilitator, Central East Region (York and South Simcoe area)Reports to: Events, Outreach and Volunteer ManagerLocation: Hybrid: primarily remote, but required to travel to our Provincial Office (1179 King St W, Toronto, ON, M6K 3C5) or other locations in the York/South Simcoe area as neededHours: 37.5 per week; must be able to work evenings and weekends as requiredAnnual Salary: $50,000 - $55,000Duration: One year contract, possibility of extensionPosition Overview:Reporting to the Events, Outreach and Volunteer Manager, the Program Facilitator, in conjunction with the Region’s Program and Volunteer Coordinator, supports Autism Ontario’s volunteers in achieving identified goals, while supporting the development of various regional programming.The Program Facilitator works closely with the Region’s Program and Volunteer Coordinator and with Autism Ontario’s Fund Development Team on different initiatives to promote ASD awareness and advocacy across the province.Key Responsibilities:

• Works collaboratively with the Region’s Program and Volunteer Coordinator to oversee all proposed region-initiated programs and ensure they are following the policies and procedures of Autism Ontario.
• Support volunteers (parents, self-advocates, and professionals) in achieving the identified goals.
• Research, propose and execute activities for in person and/or virtual programming
• Assist with the promotion of programs in partnership with the Regional staff.
• Provide support and assistance for regional events
• Support Autism Ontario’s volunteer program, assisting with recruiting and attracting volunteers for events and committees in the assigned region and surrounding areas.
• Work closely and collaboratively with Autism Ontario staff in developing and implementing policies, procedures and working practices.
• Work with volunteer leadership to identify priorities (gaps in services) in the region for families/caregivers and develop a means for communicating those priorities locally.
• Support and participate in the development of the Annual Plan and Budget with the Regional Program and Volunteer Coordinator.
• Provide monthly reporting and feedback around regional programming in collaboration with the Regional Program and Volunteer Coordinator.
• Maintain database operations as it pertains to regional programs
• Evaluate and monitor program delivery, including but not limited to maintaining continuous records, updating relevant databases, and communicating with Provincial office.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A degree/diploma in a related human services field (SSW, Volunteer Management, etc.)
• Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Minimum 1-2 years experience supporting individuals with Autism
• Minimum 1-2 years experience with program development
• NVCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certificate
• First Aid and CPR certificate
• Experience in workshop facilitation, social group work/community organizing is an asset
• Experience supervising volunteers in a non-profit setting is an asset
• Ability and means to travel; a valid driver’s licence is required
• Available to work evenings and weekends as required
• Lives within their (or is willing to travel frequently) to their assigned region
• Bilingualism (French/English) considered an asset
• Must be proficient with various computer programs including data base management, email, Microsoft 365 applications and have familiarity with social media and other technology tools and approaches
• Demonstrated commitment to principles of social justice, neurodiversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, anti-Black racism, anti-ableism
