Job Description

About NewMakeIt: NewMakeIt is a not-for-profit community innovation and creative space that provides a place for members to work on innovative, creative or entrepreneurial endeavors. Our mission is to be the place in the community where innovation starts and enable our members to start the possible. Job Summary: We are seeking an organized and efficient Program Manager to join our team. As a Program Manager, you will work with our key partners, to plan, execute, and report on the Repair Café program. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks, including managing the pipeline of volunteers, coordinating and attending the events, conducting surveys, and producing reports.Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow the volunteer base using various techniques, including social media, creating and attending recruiting events.
  • Work in partnership with our program partners – York Region and our host partners – local libraries and social centres, to coordinate events.
  • Monitor progress of events, including volunteer registration, host partner guest registration.
  • Partner with our marketing team to create program awareness through marketing channels.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, including graphic designers, printers, to create program materials.
  • Manage the delivery, pick-up and maintenance of the tool kit, including tool repairs and supplies replenishment.
  • Attend events to ensure success.
  • Track, analyze event metrics and provide reports to program partners.
  • Collect feedback, respond to inquiries, and make recommendations for program improvement.
  • Manage program budget.
  • Perform other administrative and support tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in program / project management or currently studying business in school.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment and reliable.
  • Access to a vehicle – travel will be reimbursed at established market rates.
  • Technically inclined, skills / repair experience with electronics and small appliances an asset.
  • Education or work experience in environmental sustainability an asset.
