Job Number: 48179 Group: Magna Mechatronics, Mirrorsamp; LightingDivision: Mechatronics Technical Center Job Type: Student Location: NEWMARKET Group DescriptionThe Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML #39;s expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.Role Summary Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to operate all standard tool room equipment efficiently and in a safe manner (i.e. lathes, mills, grinders, Bandsaw, drill press etc.)
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret GD amp;T
  • Fabricate parts, tooling and fixtures from CAD and or drawings according to a given deadline
  • Take actions required to resolves problem situations
  • Inspect parts and tooling and ensure work meets customer requirements
  • Support engineering experiments and evaluations by building or modifying fixtures and components
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
  • Perform welding duties are required
  • Follow all CTC rules and procedures
  • Follows Magna’s Code of Conductamp; Ethics and related compliance policies
  • Perform other duties as required
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Working towards college diploma in Manufacturing field
  • Basic machine shop training
  • Basic CNC machine skills
  • Basic working knowledge of welding (MIGamp; TIG)
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Time management and organizing effort
  • Detail orientated, problem solving, multi-tasking, self-motivating, analyzing of data
