Job Description

Reporting to the Plant Administration Supervisor, the Commercial Support Specialist provides key support activities to oilseed value chain with local commercial activities such as local oilseed origination, truck meal sales, and plant logistics coordination. This position supports commodity purchase settlements, preparation of load orders for products, seed inventory position verification, logistics coordination with producers that advance Bunges customer/farmer focus.Core Functions:

  • Ensure all plant commodity purchases and receipts are properly controlled, applied, and settled per the producers intentions
  • Manage and control local commodity related expenses such as truck freight, and contract cancellations
  • Support the commercial activity with commodity inventory management, scheduling of seed receipts, and other local plant logistics
  • Perform local commodity position verifications and key SOX and internal controls as defined
  • Support the Plant Administration Supervisor with daily reporting of production, inventories, and plant KPRs
  • Assist Financial Shared Services with follow-up on AR collections and disputes
  • Assist the Plant Administration Supervisor with local office support functions such as office equipment, supplies, and local administrative back-ups, PC Rotations program, time keeping, and voice systems
  • Facilitate financial balance sheet reconciliations with the Oakville accounting function for items such as advances, deferred payment related activity
  • Coordinate the gathering of documentation requested by various internal/external audit and SOX activities
  • Process and coordinate rail orders and sales.
  • Manage car orders, outbound lists, and coordinate with Trackmobile and management.
  • Utilize rail tracking systems and processes.
  • Report on rail movement and storage throughout the facility.
  • Assist with special projects, as required
  • Perform any other related duties, as required
Skill/Experience Requirements:
  • High school or an equivalent GED required
  • 2-5 years of related administration and/or accounting experience
  • Experience or exposure to agribusiness activities and transactions preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborative environment
  • Exposure to using enterprise business applications such as SAP GTM, SAP Business Warehouse, or comparable commodity
  • Strong end user computing skills e.g.MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Versatility, flexibility, and analytical skills are essential
  • Must be able to work overtime, as required
