Job DescriptionThe ICU Clinical Resource Nurse performs skilled emergency and critical medical treatment / procedures / protocols required to stabilize the sick and injured, in conformance with standards established by the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The incumbent will be accountable for providing clinical education within the scope of their practice and policy development in patient care areas within acute care. The incumbent will provide a leadership role that encourages and maintains a high standard of Best Practice and ethical care that is followed by all members of the interdisciplinary team. The incumbent will collaborate with the Manager of Clinical Services, the Director of Acute Care, other nurse managers, clinical nurse educators and staff nurses in developing orientation and specific departmental education/in-services.Job QualificationsRequired QualificationsBaccalaureate Degree in NursingRegistered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)ExperienceMinimum of 3-5 years recent clinical experience in an Emergency/Intensive Care (Critical Care) environment is required. Other: -Experience with clinical information technology programs/equipment (preferred). -Experience in leading successful quality improvement projects is an asset.Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesProficient use of computer, software, and peripheral equipment, i.e., Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), as well as Microsoft Project, Sharepoint,amp; VisioAdditional InformationRequired Qualifications continued: -Certificate in Critical Care Nursing specialized practice from an Accredited School of Nursing and/or equivalent subject to acceptability by the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Canadian Nurses Association CCNC(c) designation is preferred. -Proficient use of Sunrise Clinical Manager. -Travel between former Prairie North Health Region sites may be required. -Focused attention to details is frequently required through the day and there are interruptions to work flow and deadline pressures on a daily basis. -Required to obtain instructor status for BCLS, ACLS, PALS, Respirator Fit Testing, TLR (Transfer, Lift and Repositioning), WAVE Training, and any other instructor course(s) as deemed necessary by the Manager. -Good attendance required. This is a designated field hours position. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. A vulnerable sector check (VSC) is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons.
