Job Description

The Wind Measurement Technician is responsible for the preparation, installation and commissioning of meteorological towers and remote sensing (LiDAR) systems, including remote power supplies and communications. This includes troubleshooting during the operation as well as maintenance and calibration services of measurement equipment to ensure reliable and high-quality wind data collection.Role

  • Installation of wind measurement systems:
o Support site preparations, equipment procurement and logisticso Manage and oversee external contractors during field installations of measurement masts, including quality control and commissioningo Conduct LiDAR field installations and commissioning including remote power supply systemso Prepare or review installation reports according to industry standards
  • Operation of wind measurement systems:
o Ensure regular wind data collection via remote communication or field tripso Maintain supplies for continuous operation of wind measurement systemso Troubleshooting of wind measurement equipment
  • Equipment inventory:
o Keep inventory of wind measurement equipment in good order including regular maintenance and calibration servicesQualifications· Technical College or University Degree· Practical hands-on / field work with electrical equipment / electronics (e.g. LiDAR, hybrid power supply)· Problem solving skills· Management / oversight of contract works (e.g. wind mast installations)· Work experience in electronics, measurement technology, solar PV systems, telecommunication· Experience with met/radio/cell tower installations· Team player, willingness to learnDetails· Full time employment with an international renewable energy developer and operator active in 8 countries on two continents.· Compensation to be determined based on experience.· Continuing education and training opportunities.· Location: Candidates who reside in Nova Scotia will be considered. You may work from our office in Halifax, NS, remotely, or semi-remotely.· The position will be primarily based in the field, with a balance of travelling to project sites and office work, as well as occasional travel to the US and Europe if necessary.· Reports to the Head of International Project Support.· Start date: TBD. ASAP is preferred.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $45,000.00-$70,000.00 per yearBenefits:
