Job Description

The Whitfield Group consists of three companies located in Oldcastle, Ontario (Whitfield Welding Inc., Lincoln Laser Solutions, and Lincoln Conveyors), and is a leader in high value component repair and refurbishment. Our team is growing every year through diversification into new industries achieved by the development of state-of-the-art welding and heat treatment processes. Our team is focused on delivering the highest quality service to our customers, as quickly as possible.We are currently seeking a qualified Manual Machinist to run our Boring Mill for our machining team at Lincoln Conveyors. We have one position available on our day shift, Monday to Friday 7:00AM – 3:30PM.Key Skills & Job Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years machining experience
  • Experience running conventional and CNC mills
  • Programming experience with Master Cam and at the controller
  • Read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings
  • Ability to use various measuring tools such as Micrometers, Vernier Calipers and Dial Bore Gauges
  • Mechanically inclined with an understanding of how to use hand tools and reading a measuring tape
  • Ability to operate saws, drills, and machines to fabricate materials according to specs
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job such as: standing, walking for extended periods of time, bending, and lifting heavy objects (a minimum of 50 lbs.)
  • Familiarity with use of a forklift and overhead crane (we will also provide training on both)
  • General Machinist Certificate is an asset
  • Ability to train an apprentice machinist is an asset
  • Keep machines and surrounding workspace clean while maintaining a safe organized work environment
