In this role, you will determine and assess risks to children through the investigation process, planning, making referrals to community resources and developing public awareness of child abuse issues and resources.RoleAs a Child Intervention Caseworker in the Olds office, you will be responsible to influence and change the lives and well-being of Alberta’s children, youth and families. Exercising your knowledge of Child Intervention Practice Framework you will focus on: assessing, creating safety and well-being for children/youth, and enhancing parental capacity, family functioning and wellness. Your ability to work collaboratively with families and community partners in the creation of safety plans and identifying safety and risk factors is a critical element of the role. We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate the fundamental components of casework including: working from a culturally informed lens, understanding of family dynamics, trauma informed practice, harm reduction, as well as the importance of life-long connections.Successful candidates must have a working knowledge of Indigenous culture and the impact of colonization, as well as the Child Youth and Family Enhancement Act. They must also have a concrete understanding and working knowledge of Signs of Safety and the Child Intervention Practice Framework principles. Any position within the organization requires an extensive knowledge of community resources and how to support diverse populations within the community. Successful candidates must be able to work independently and exercise considerable professional judgment in providing services.
