Job Description

Job TitleCasual TechnicianJob DescriptionReporting to the Flex Team Lead, the Casual Technician will be responsible for assisting multiple departments and processes within Sundial. As a member of the cross-functional Flex Team, the Technician will be deployed to the process that requires help, dependent on operational demands.The job scope is subject to change daily and therefore requires a diverse skill set and the ability to pivot on short notice. Employees on the Flex Team will support processes including, but not limited to, cloning, pruning, defoliation, transplanting, harvest, trim, dry, label, excise, extraction, and environmental services.Scope of Role:

  • Supports the processes that require extra manpower to complete the task
  • Perform all tasks required in the processes. Processes could potentially change daily
  • Train on all SOPs relating to all processes within Sundial
  • Become competent and efficient in all Cultivation/Processing tasks
  • Follow and implement GMP with all tasks
Required Competencies:
  • Solid team player who promotes a culture of professionalism, integrity, quality and teamwork
  • Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time along with good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, with strong attention to detail
  • Capable of following strict processes and procedure, with the ability to work with minimal supervision quickly and accurately
  • Work along with the various teams to ensure the task is being done in a timely manner
  • Team will need to be flexible, flexible start times and lunch breaks, to align with the process they are helping
  • Experience working within a highly-regulated environment
  • Previous experience working in trim and harvest is an asset
  • Flexible to work in other areas of packaging, bottling, shipping as required
  • Experience in general labour, logistics, manufacturing or warehouse is an asset
Physical Requirements:
  • Physical aptitude necessary to perform tasks required for an 8-hour shift period, including but not limited to: standing, walking, bending/reaching (repetitive), pushing/pulling (up to 300 lbs), lifting (up to 40 lbs) and squatting
  • Ability to work in environments with elevated temperature and humidity, up to 30 degrees Celsius and 75% humidity
  • Ability to work in environments with variable lighting (from very bright to very dark)
  • Ability to work in environments with cooler temperatures +/- 6 degrees Celsius
  • Ability to work for an 8-hour shift period wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to full-face or half mask respirators, medical gloves, safety eyewear and face masks
  • Ability to work in enclosed spaces with close interactions of up to 20 other employees at any given time
  • Ability to regularly work with cleaning products including, but not limited to, Sanidate, Shyield, Benefect Simple Green and Isopropyl Alcohol
