Job Description

Olds College, Continuing Education is seeking a dynamic manager for Programming and Curriculum. The Curriculum and Programming Manager is responsible for programs and their curriculum as it relates to Continuing Education offerings. The Curriculum and Programming Manager leads a team to ensure the ongoing availability, suitability, sustainability and performance of programs and corporate training aligned with the college’s continuing education goals. Key Job Functions:

  • Provide project management for the development of new curriculum content by working with programmers, contracted subject matter experts and members of the Teaching and Learning Centre of Innovation (i.e., curriculum development, video production, learning management system)
  • Lead Needs Assessment and market research processes to identify opportunities for programming growth.
  • Work with Continuing Education marketing staff to develop marketing plans and promote program offerings in relevant publications, websites, and other venues.
  • Lead the development of viable micro-credential opportunities and work with campus stakeholders and industry partners to bring micro-credentials to the market.
  • Work with the Academic School to identify opportunities for new and expanded programming in the area of Smart Agriculture.
  • Creating and building upon industry connections to expand opportunities to offer customized contract training for companies and associations.
  • Lead the programming team in prospect generation for new opportunities to support industry with customized training.
  • Lead Needs Assessment and market research processes to identify opportunities for programming growth.
  • Provide leadership to the Continuing Education Programming Team.
  • Work with Continuing Education marketing staff to develop marketing plans and promote program offerings in relevant publications, websites, and other venues.
  • Attending trade shows and other special events to promote Olds College Continuing Education offerings and services to potential students and industry contacts.
  • Assist Senior Manager Continuing Education and Corporate Training with budget preparation and monitoring.
Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required:
  • A post-secondary education in education, business, marketing, curriculum development, communications, or a related field is required.
  • Previous experience in continuing education, working with adult learners, online learning, or curriculum development would be definite assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders to achieve goals.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial mindset that encourages ideas with measured risks.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Excellent communication, project management, leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • The availability to work flexible hours. Some weekend and evening work will be required.
