Job Description

Job TitleQuality Assurance TechnicianJob DescriptionOverview: Reporting to Team Lead, Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Technician will provide exceptional client support to the business. As a trusted professional, this role measures and observes whether or not our product and processes meet the quality standards to produce high-quality marihuana produced on a commercial scale in a licensed facility.The main responsibility is to assure quality products and processes are adhered to in order to achieve the highest level of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Scope of Role:

  • Measure the quality of products using a pre-defined set of criteria.
  • Record information on products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Create specification charts based on products that are sampled.
  • Liaise with Grow Technicians, Trimmers, Packagers etc. and others involved in production in order to create plans to improve quality.
  • Provide guidance to manufacturing with respect to GPP, GDP, and GMP.
  • Spot trends in production line’s output that veers from expected quality.
  • Verify fulfilled orders, including label verification.
  • Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications or criteria.
  • Make suggestions as to how the quality process can be improved.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge of marihuana plants, grow systems, procedures and growth stages.
  • Review and discern charts, analysis, documents and formulas related to product.
  • Perform QA duties for materials management such as release label creation, application, and inventory follow up.
  • Be familiar with the Cannabis Act approved pesticides and their chemical and non-chemical treatments and applications.
  • Must have read and be familiar with the Cannabis Act regulations and its relation to the Food and Drug Act.
  • Assists in Developing and writing SOPs for all areas of the facility ensuring compliance with the Cannabis Act and GPP/GMP.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Sciences, Organic Chemistry or other related science
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, pharmaceuticals, and/or NHP manufacturing
  • Ability to apply critical thinking in order to determine root cause of deviations
Required Competencies:
  • Solid MS Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid team player with the demonstrated ability to understand, follow and mentor production staff regarding SOP compliance
  • Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
