Job Description

Southern Irrigation is actively looking for a Full-Time Service/Shop Technician for our Oliver location. The successful candidate should excel in customer service, have good work ethic, and a positive attitude.Job Title: Service/Shop TechnicianLocation: 5830 Sawmill Road, Oliver, BCJob purpose: This position’s primary responsibility is to troubleshoot and schedule service calls, ensuring service calls are billed correctly, parts are tracked, and shop service work is completed on time with exceptional workmanship while maintaining a high level of customer service.Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Field service calls from customers, troubleshoot, and diagnose
  • Schedule all service calls
  • Coordinate service times with customer and service person
  • Ensure all service calls are qualified and billed accordingly
  • Track parts and labor costs
  • Perform shop work as required
    • Basic pump repair and troubleshooting
    • Others
  • Take care of building and vehicle maintenance as required
  • Install pump systems and mainlines
    • Fusing HDPE piping
    • Measure, cut and glue pipe, fittings and components
    • Commission and flush systems
  • Transport materials and equipment to job sites as required
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, always providing the best in quality service and value
  • Perform telemetry and electronic units service and troubleshooting as required. Training will be provided
Competencies
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in technology, computers, electronics. Experience with telemetry units is an asset
  • Presentable, reliable and a strong team player
  • A task-oriented individual, able to troubleshoot with a positive outlook
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and contribute solutions, with ownership thinking
  • Work independently, setting and meeting goals
  • Experience in the irrigation and / or agricultural industry is an asset
