Job Description

Site Maintenance Job Posting May 2021Located on the North end of Osoyoos Lake on 70 acres, The Osoyoos Cottages requires a site maintenance person. The hours of work equal 1600 hours a year, 8 hours a day, five days a week March 1st to November 31st. December to February would be part time.The duties would include, but not limited to:· Maintenance of the property including minor repairs, painting, fence maintenance and supervising visiting trades.· Ensure preventative maintenance procedures are completed on a timely basis for buildings and related equipment. Recommend repairs or purchases where required.· Janitorial work at the three buildings.· Daily Pool Quality Testing in accordance with required health and safety standards and acts.· Marina repairs.· Beach maintenance.· Ensure completion of work orders and assignments.· The candidate maybe expected to work on weekends and holidays.· Snow shoveling and plowing.· Ensures adherence to all health and safety work practices, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained.Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Graduation
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the operation and maintenance of buildings.
  • Working knowledge in multiple trade functions such as carpentry, plumbing, drywall repair and HVAC maintenance.
  • Pool Operator 1 – Certified by BCRPA would be an asset
  • Experience safely operating power tools and other maintenance equipment
  • Ability to complete all tasks in a timely manner, working independently or as part of a team
  • Working with pool chemicals and cleaning products with proper PPE.
· Previous experience working on a resort or large property would be an asset.· First Aid ticket would be an asset.
  • BC driver’s license with clean abstract and reliable transportation.
  • Experience operating snow removal equipment an asset.
  • Experience and competence in maintaining machinery and equipment.
  • Physically demanding, out in all weather conditions. Ability to lift, push, pull, move up to 22 kgs.
