Tinhorn Creek Vineyards in Oliver, BC is one of the Okanagan’s most innovative and environmentally sustainable estate wineries with an extensive health and safety program. We have 120 acres of premium wine growing, in the heart of the South Okanagan. Vineyards on both the Golden Mile Bench and the Black Sage Bench. We produce roughly 50:50 white and red, and our two unique vineyard sites allow us to grow both Bordeaux and Burgundy varietals in addition Syrah and Gewurztraminer. We employ conventional and sustainable farming practices, to create our world class wines. We have a skilled team that you would enjoy working with.Reporting into the Assistant Vineyard/Maintenance Manager, the Vineyard Worker will be responsible for operating a tractor to maintain the current vines as well installing future vines to produce quality grapes, field work is required to execute our quality focused practices in our vineyard plan.We are looking for a teammate with:Tractor operation experience, with excellent driver skills, combined with a mechanical aptitude is requiredExcellent communication skills with the ability to multi-task; as well a “Can Do” attitude and enjoy working outdoors and in a team environmentAbility to adapt to unforeseen constraints of weather and work a flexible schedule during critical times of the seasonPhysically able to lift and carry up to 22 kg.Valid driver’s license and insurability by companyThis teammate will be accountable for:Performing specialized duties within the vineyard such as pruning, tying, suckering/shoot thinning, weeding, wire movement, leaf & fruit thinning, hand harvest and operating a tractor as requiredWorking with Vineyard Team to with the execution of the vineyard planInspection of tractor/equipment; calibrating equipment and use agricultural implementsApplying plant sprays following established safety procedures and may include field irrigationPerforming light equipment maintenanceSafely operating procedures, support safety programs and policies to safeguard personal safety, company property, environmental and team member’s safety.We are conducting an internal and external search simultaneously.
