Job Description

Osoyoos Cottages – Job Opportunity – Water Treatment Plant Operators Nestled on the North end of Osoyoos Lake on 70 acres in the sunny South Okanagan, the Cottages onOsoyoos Lake community is a beautiful lakeside development with 285 homes and its own water and wastewater systems. We have a team of committed high performing people of diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and experiences who achieve their goals in alignment with the community’s vision.The Cottages on Osoyoos Lake has immediate openings for motivated and hardworking water EOCPCertified Water and Wastewater Utility Operators Level I or II to join our Water and Waste WaterTreatment and infrastructure team. Full and part time positions are available. Hours of work may include weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.What we offer:

The duties would include, but not limited to:
  • Water Operations
  • Street Operations ( Hydrant servicing, storm drains, etc)
  • Waste Water Operations
  • Solid Waste
  • Pumps and Controls
  • General and equipment maintenance
  • On call duties on a 2 week rotation – on call for 2 weeks and off for 2 weeks schedule
The successful candidate:
  • EOCP Certified Water and Wastewater Utility Operator Level I or II
  • Has the ability to keep in good standing with the EOCP
  • Relevant experience and training
  • Commitment to career development and work to obtain Level II and above operator certification
  • Has a valid and unrestricted Class 5 driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Is able to pass a criminal record check
  • Is reliable and punctual
  • Has good communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Is organized and has the ability to multi-task
  • Is able to meet job requirements with little daily supervision and work well within a team
  • Is able to organize and maintain accurate equipment files
  • Has an ability in keeping current with government regulations and industry requirements
  • Has an excellent attitude toward workplace safety
  • Has computer knowledge and skills in Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Has good mechanical aptitude
