JOB:Onoway Regional Fire Services (ORFS) is in search of fully certified firefighters who would like to volunteer to stay at one of our two active fire stations as paid-on-call (POC) firefighters. As a POC firefighter, you will be expected to respond to any and all emergencies that your unit is assigned to respond to. ORFS responds to approximately 250 emergency calls for service each year, consisting mainly of medical co-responses backing up Alberta Health Services.SHIFT:Non-Local POCs are expected to maintain at least 24 volunteer hours per week. This usually consists of one 24-hour period on-call at the station, or two 12-hour periods.PAY:ORFS members are compensated for responding to all emergency call types with the exeption of medical responses. NFPA 1001 Level 1 firefighters receive $25.00 per hour while on scene, and NFPA 1001 Level 2 firefighters receive $30.00 per hour while on scene.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
