Our Orangeville, Ontario manufacturing facility has an immediate opening in Plant Production for an Extrusion Production Supervisor for the High Density Polyethylene Department.Responsibilities: · Supervise the day to day manufacturing operations of the HDPE Extrusion Department and ensure that standard operating procedures, good manufacturing practices, departmental processes and all safety rules and OHSA regulations are being observed at all times by all employees;· Provide guidance on equipment and product problems;· Recommend opportunities to improve site operations in the areas of quality, cost, delivery and safety;· Monitor process, materials and surroundings;· Organize, plan, prioritize work, assignments and production sequences to meet production goals according to demand;· Analyze and evaluate data, reporting results to management through charts and production reports;· Ensure that machinery and equipment on assigned extrusion lines is performing at capacity and within the established metrics for the lines;· Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality or efficiency· Troubleshoot and solve problems and issues that arise with equipment, material, staff.· Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts and repair services· Guide, direct and coordinate the activities of staff engaged in the production or processing of goods;· Responsible for training, coaching, motivating, counseling, discipline, employee development, and performance management of staffRequired Skills: · Minimum of 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment in a Supervisory Capacity;· Experience in Plastic Extrusion is preferred;· Strong communicator, both written and oral, confident, decisive, able to deal with conflict;· Demonstrated ability to problem solve and troubleshoot various equipment operations to minimize downtime and put forward corrective actions;· Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Syspro, Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision);· Highly motivated, energetic with high level of initiative;· Strong time-management and problem solving skills with ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines;· Reacts positively to change; demonstrates flexibility and adaptability;Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:
