Job Description

Cedar Heights Residential Living is looking for caring, enthusiastic, energetic and professional individuals to work with children and adolescents within our Orangeville residence. Cedar Heights specializes in working with those diagnosed with ASD, FASD & various other brain-based disabilities. Residential Support Workers provide individuals with high levels of support and supervision in all areas of daily living including: education, behaviour management, community involvement, and recreation.The position requires that the candidate be available to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends. Cedar Heights Residential Living offers a dynamic workplace in a rapidly growing organization.On- and off-site training is provided. Also made available to all employees are opportunities to participate in various workshops to further develop skills and knowledge on how to better support our clients.Responsibilities and Duties:The Residential Support Worker provides on-site, client-centered day programming. Staff are responsible for assisting the residents in the participation of Life Skills Training, Personal and Self-Help Training, Arts & Crafts, Recreation and Leisure, as well as Home Schooling Programs in various subject areas. Community integration is also a focus of the program.Qualifications and Skills:Post-secondary degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Child and Youth Worker or other related field.Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector$1,000,000 Liability Automobile InsuranceValid Driver's LicenseC.P.I., and/or First Aid/C.P.R. and/or Medication/Pharmacology training an asset.Job Types:Part-Time; evening and weekend availability requiredRequired education:Post secondary diploma or degree.Required experience:Experience is preferred, but not required.Required language:EnglishRequired license or certification:Valid 'G' Drivers' License
