Job Description

Job Description, Duties and ResponsibilitiesSales AssociateSummary:The primary responsibly of the Retail Sales Associate is to provide superior service to all customers and assist the store manager and/or assistant store supervisor as needed. The position may be required to work in the store independently.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following.Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist all customers in a professional and timely manner upon them entering the retail store.
  • Answer customer telephone calls promptly and in an appropriate manner per company guidelines
  • Provide knowledgeable assistance to customers with all product lines and services offered by the retail store.
  • Assist store managers with outside sales calls when necessary.
  • Determine a customer’s needs by asking questions and listening to the customer’s response.
  • To suggestively sell additional merchandise to the customer assisting the customer in completing their projects.
  • To actively participate in all provided training programs offered by the retail store.
  • To maintain merchandising standards established by store managers and /or operational managers including window displays, sales floor displays, promotional displays etc.
  • To actively participate in store activities including unloading of trucks, stocking shelves, carrying merchandise out for the customer, tinting paint, offering colour advice, having the ability to lift a determined weight of up to 50 – 75lbs of merchandise and delivering paint when needed.
  • Present a professional, neat appearance, maintain a good attendance record and arrive to work at the scheduled time.
  • Participate in all daily store housekeeping responsibilities that include interior/exterior maintenance, cleaning, and product organization, etc.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in the retail employee handbook.
  • Process all sales transactions in a timely and accurate manner adhering to all operational procedures concerning transactions.
  • Accurately complete all opening and closing procedures.
Job Requirements: Demonstrated skills in customer services and negotiating, Detail oriented. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Be able to manage your time efficiently and appropriately. Must be willing to work all scheduled hours and required overtime, which may include evenings and weekends.Qualifications: · Preferred prior 2-year experience in Paint and / or Blind sales.· Prefer prior experience in a sales or customer service position.· Education: Minimum High School degree or equivalent work experience.· Must have a valid driver’s license and be in good standing· Experience required; Candidate must have the ability to develop strong customer relationships, identify customer needs, prospect for new accounts, and possess strong verbal/ written communication, presentation, negotiation, closing and creative problem-solving skills.· Strong interpersonal, speaking and listening skills· Demonstrated expertise in customer service and satisfying customer complaints· Detail oriented with the ability to manage time efficiently and appropriately· Proficient computer skills must be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone.· Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.· Must be able to tint paint, therefore, must be able to distinguish the difference between colors.Reference ID: Sales Associate - 2021-05-16Expected start date: 2021-05-26Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: $14.00-$17.00 per hourBenefits:
