Job Description

Symphony Senior Living is a leading provider of quality senior services in Canada; we provide private pay services to residents in our beautiful communities, from assisted living, through to end of life. We are the true alternative to a Long-Term Care facility – to that end we are NOT a medical institution we are the HOME to many seniors of many levels of ability. We Serve BOTH our Seniors and Their loved ones.We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced custodian/handyperson to join our team at Symphony Senior Living Orleans. This position is a 60-day contract position with the option to extend.If you love working with people and you find the challenge of connecting and serving residents with physical needs rewarding this could be the position for you! We require, an experienced Leader of people, but more importantly someone who is compassionate and driven to provide a high quality, interactive, residential and compassionate environment to the resident, their families and the team. Our residents and families pay for all costs, so you must be able to understand budgeting and be a good steward of the resources available and our customers needs.Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer or designate, performs routine preventative maintenance and repair procedures on the building, mechanical equipment and utility systems.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the daily maintenance and common area cleaning.
  • Performs minor repair of building and equipment. (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers.)
  • Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis
  • Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance
  • Procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures
  • Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required
  • Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures
  • Performs outside custodial duties, such as snow removal as required
  • May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed
  • Creates a community wide environment that protects the confidentiality of the residents, Team Members and activities of Symphony Senior Living
  • Protects their own health and the health of other by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety.
  • Follows all guidelines for Team Members and employers as legislated under the Occupational Health and Safety.

Any other external body decoration, including hair, must not be frightening to a frail senior with dementia.· You must be legally allowed to work in Canada· You must be in good physical health as this job requires lifting, sitting, standing and walking.· Must be available to respond to emergencies in the nights and/or weekends.· Should there be an outbreak, must be able to carry out their duties.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: From $20.00 per hourBenefits:
