Job Description

Who Can Apply:Internal (DCC Employees) and External (General Public)Salary Range:$68,310 - $92,219Employment status:ContinuingTerm Length:Security Level:ReliabilityLanguage Requirement:EnglishClosing Date:30/06/21The Coordinator, Environmental Services, provides environmental services, including technical advice, guidance and recommendations, to the Client-Partners on, typically, moderate complexity, scope and/or risk projects in one or more environmental services practice area. These services can be provided through in-house resources or third-party contracts. The incumbent prepares technical documents, reviews deliverables, assists in the procurement process, oversees contractor and consultant activities, and coordinates project activities to ensure overall requirements are met on time, within scope and on budget.KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIESThe duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive:PrimaryConduct and coordinate environmental work on a wide variety of projects to monitor compliance with legal and other requirementsProvide environmental technical support for and/or lead contract initiation and managementPrepare environmental reports to meet Client-Partner requirementsProvide input to ensure the service level arrangement deliverables are met and work is completed on time and on budgetReview and/or peer review environmental reports, statements of work and cost estimatesProvide overall project management services to ensure deliverables are provided on time, within scope and on budgetDevelop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholdersEnsure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectationsOtherDevelop environmental procedures, policies and directivesConduct quality control procedures for service level arrangements and deliverablesSupport and/or lead business development activitiesManage riskOther duties as assignedSKILLSGeneral and Specific KnowledgeBest practices, methods, trends and legislation in environmental sciences and environmental engineeringProject and risk management principlesHealth and safety managementFormal Education and/or Certification(s) and ExperienceMinimum: college diploma in biology, environment sciences, environmental engineering or related field with four years’ relevant experience, or the equivalentPreferred: university degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or related field and/or specialized knowledge, training and certification (as applicable) in one or more environmental services practice areaAbilitiesUse applicable computer software and operating systemsCreate databasesApply project and risk management techniquesDEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIPProvide functional advice and guidance to employees and to Client-PartnersWORKING CONDITIONSTypical office environment with occasional travelSome work may be located on environmental or construction sites; incumbent may occasionally be required to wear basic safety equipmentDCC is responsible for the Personnel Security Clearance process. Typically to be eligible for a "Reliability" clearance, you must have five years of verifiable background information and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you must have 10 years of verifiable background information. The process usually involves reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal records checks, and credit checks (as required) and may require fingerprints.
