For those looking to start their careers, Spirit Ridge offers a wide variety of advancement opportunities to those who can show us they got what it takes to care for our guests and team members alike.What You DoAssistant Controller reports to the Director of Finance, which is an offsite support. Therefore the Assistant Controller provides leadership for the Finance team in daily operations, including financial planning, income audit, reporting financial records/projections, mitigating financial risks, and meeting both short-term and long-term goals of the company. The Assistant Controller also provides ongoing training and support as it relates to finance policies and procedures for all operational departments at the resort.The Assistant Controller is a highly motivated, proactive and results-oriented individual. The role requires leadership, attention to detail and management skills. The person will possess sound business judgment, an understanding of business processes, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial operations and assist the Director of Finance with timely reporting of results and financial planning
  • Coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance to Management (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required)
  • Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties
  • Assist with audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms
  • Implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting
  • Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations.
  • Maintain an ongoing awareness of the regulatory environment and issues that could affect our business model
  • Assist in agreement negotiations, due diligence, execution, and post-acquisition integration
  • Nurture and develop an accounting team by working closely with the Finance managers to ensure timely and accurate preparation of client financial information and reports
  • Ensure adequate systems, sound internal controls and resources required for achieving the company’s goals and objectives.
What You Need
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial financial role, with at least 3 years of financial hands-on experience
  • Experience in all key areas (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashier, and Payroll)
  • Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) is an asset
  • Hospitality operations management experience is preferred
  • Proven ability and drive for achieving high results with a passion for leading a team
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
