Job Description

Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for managing all aspects of inventory control for assigned departments with the purpose of achieving Farm Boy’s vision, maximizing sales and profitability and enabling the strategic growth of the company. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.Major Responsibilities: Inventory Management

  • Determine proper levels of inventory by SKU for the purpose of maximizing fill rates, shelf-life availability and product freshness resulting in increased Inventory Turns.
  • Facilitate clear communications through supply chain (Suppliers, Farm Boy Procurement, Merchandising, Distribution Centre, Accounting and Retail teams) in an effort to expedite accurate transmission of information and product.
  • Strive to meet and or exceed the fill rate and freshness objectives of Farm Boy Procurement on a consistent basis.
  • Maintain acute awareness of various influences on product inventory such as but not limited to - feature planning, instore planning, store openings, seasonal changes, consumer trend influences.
  • Maintain accurate current and historical data enabling effective decision making in regards to inventory control.
Supply Logistics
  • Liaise with external suppliers, internal departments as well as Store and Department Managers on all issues relating to the ordering process.
  • Follow up with Category and Merchandising Managers on issues relating to short shipments, out-of-stocks, etc. and communicate to all parties concerned.
  • Effective and timely communications on all supply related issues such as but not limited to: supplier shortages, damages, late deliveries, product recalls.
  • Coordinate, analyze and challenge suppliers regarding in-bound receiving, with particular attention to minimum order quota and lead time requirements.
  • Facilitate timely and orderly delivery of product to maximize distribution center efficiencies.
Quality Assurance
  • Understand product specifications as determined by Product Development / Category Management for the intention of ensuring a high level of product integrity on a consistent basis.
  • Ensuring proper rotation and flow through of inventory in an effort to optimize product quality at all times
  • Effectively communicate Farm Boy Procurement Policies for product specifications in an effort to avoid disruptions to supply chain management.
Internal Controls
  • Strict adherence to all Farm Boy policies and procedures as they pertain to replenishment in an effort to minimize issues created through both internal and external areas of supply chain.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of forecasting systems developed to facilitate replenishment responsibilities.
  • Monitor replenishment systems and collaborate with leadership to ensure performance accuracy and efficacy.
  • May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis (i.e., new store procurement set-up).
