Job Description

Job DescriptionOur corporate Estimating and Pricing team is looking for an eager student to join the department as an Estimating Administrator. In this role you would be supporting a team of estimators who work tandem with a multitude of internal stakeholders, from Business Development, Program Managers, Engineers, Commercial Services and more. This would be an opportunity to gain initial industry exposure through administrative duties - success in the role being fueled by effective communication and collaboration, attention to detail, and initiative!As a student Estimating Administrator, you can expect to:

  • Refresh and maintain our travel costs database (entails sourcing travel quotes for flights, hotels etc.);
  • Maintain the records and retention in regards to documents and quotes for audits and reviews as it relates to Basis of Estimate (BOE);
  • Update database as new travel destinations arise with the needs of the department;
  • Ensure quotes are from reputable sources to maintain accuracy;
  • Populate a Historical Pricing database;
  • Load Bill of Materials (BOM’s) into our Estimating Material System;
  • Run Bill of Materials for Estimators using our Estimating Material Pricing Software (EMPS) using various part numbers and various different price breaks to help the estimators with material costing for bids;
  • Analyze the Value Distribution Report (VDR) to ensure part costing is accurate and using the most recent quote and most accurate price break;
  • Work with Supply Chain Management (SCM) to ensure correct part numbers and costs are being pulled up – and help to correct any that may be incorrect or where there is a better alternative for the bid;
  • Perform escalation calculations to ensure an accurate cost is being estimated based on the date of the material quote and the validity of the quote we are providing to the customer;
  • Upload quotes provided by SCM that are to be included/updated in the bill of material, and verify that material quotes align with quote uploads.
