Job Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVEThe Timekeeper position is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of timekeeping and scorekeeping for games held at the Bell Sensplex or Richcraft Sensplex or Cavanagh Sensplex are executed properly. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ongoing Responsibilities:1. Timekeeping - Use the timeclock to accurately start/stop the clock, add goals, penalties, change periods. 2. Game sheet- Recording goals, assists, penalties on the provided game sheet. 3. Online statistics- Transpose the information recorded on the game sheet into the online statistics software using the provided iPad. 4. Announcing- Use the provided microphone to announce goals, assists, penalties, final minute of play, and other scripts occasionally assigned by your supervisor. 5. Music- Play music during warm-ups and stoppages. 6. Other- Communicate any critical issues to the supervisor by radio, such as injuries, major penalties, ejections, schedule issues.- Checking the ID of players to determine eligibility, when requested by the supervisor.- Ensure on and off ice problems are resolved professionally and according to league policy. - Other duties as assigned by the supervisor/convener. Healthamp; Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities Responsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Healthamp; Safety Act (“OHSA”) are adhered to, specifically:

  • Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability (AODA), Customer Service Standards
  • AODA, the Integrated Accessibility Standards
  • Ontario Worker Healthamp; Safety Awareness
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • WHMIS 2015 (GHS)
  • Violence and Harassment in the Workplace
Training: Responsible for completing on-line training modules as required, including, but not limited to:
  • Working in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations and internal policies and procedures
  • Using or wearing protective equipment, devises or clothing when required
  • Reporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member
  • Reporting any contravention of the OHSA, regulations or Senators Sportsamp; Entertainment policies and procedures
May also be required to attend on-site training sessions as scheduled.Requirements QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 15 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Familiar with the rules of hockey (experience as a player, coach, or referee in organized minor hockey as asset)
  • Must be comfortable with speaking to crowds of people.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Team player.
  • Responsible and dependable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Timekeeping experience is an asset, but not required.
