Job Description

Building Custodian Kings Wood Products is a wood product manufacturing company established in 1970. Our products, used mainly by the manufacturing industry, include pallets, boxes, reels, and custom export packaging.We are looking for a responsible custodian with a positive attitude to maintain both the internal and external appearance and functionality of our facility. It is important the candidate be diligent in maintaining COVID-19 cleaning protocols.The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role and be in good physical condition to cover a large space.Custodian Job Responsibilities

  • Keep building and property in clean and orderly condition.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, or vacuum floors as needed.
  • Dust furniture, walls, and equipment.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
  • Mix cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners preventing damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning and other disposable supplies.
  • Notify managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g., soap)
  • Ensure office spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces.
  • Maintain outer premises by watering plants, mowing lawn, cleaning entrances, Shoveling snow from walkways, etc.
  • Stoke furnaces on shop floor following proper protocol.
  • Follow proper COVID-19 cleaning and disinfecting protocol.
Custodian Qualifications / Skills
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
  • Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
  • Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.
  • Communication skills
  • Familiarity with basic landscaping and "Maintenance Person" practices.
  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
