Job Description

Airfoam Industries Ltd is an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of sustainable, budget-friendly and environmentally conscious EPS building materials, geofoam and flotation solutions.Our three manufacturing plants are located in British Columbia where we have seen great success. We are thrilled to announce that our newest plant is currently under construction in Paris, ON and will be up and running very soon.We are searching for a strategic leader who will, in partnership with the Operations team, execute on the set up and start up of this brand new facility, including participating in the recruiting of the production, maintenance and shipping team members.This is a very exciting role that will require not only strong knowledge of operations and manufacturing but also exceptional leadership skills to support our best and most important assets - our people.A few of the responsibilities of this role: Operations Management

  • Provide overall management for plant operation functions (production, planning, scheduling, inventor control warehousing and distribution and tactical procurement), leading these functions to deliver results, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction
People Management
  • Provide direction, support, and leadership to employees in all aspects of the operation.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for the team to ensure appropriate skill sets are achieved and maintained; provide evaluation and timely feedback to all staff.
Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety
  • Assure the site meets all environmental and safety standards. Develop, implement, and enforce methods and processes that ensure a proactive safe work environment across the site.
  • Establish relationships and communicating effectively with site staff, management, facility owner, supplier, outside agencies and the local community.
Financial and Budgeting
  • Work with Finance to develop and manage budgets and control costs; review weekly forecasts, capital expenditures, headcount, etc. Generate reports to evaluate overall financial performance.
What you bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or in a relevant Engineering field (e.g. Industrial, Mechanical Engineering).
  • 5+ years’ experience in an Engineering/Operations or Plant Management role required; strong construction product knowledge an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources) required.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proactive problem solver.
  • Strategic thinker with the capacity to implement targets and influence the outcome.
  • Understanding of Employment Standards and WSIB/WCB legislation as it applies to the workplace.
  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate would be an asset
