Location(s)Salmon Arm, British ColumbiaJacksonville, FloridaParksville, British ColumbiaPlessisville, QuebecEugene, OregonSummaryAs an Electronics Field Service Technician you will service, install and upgrade a variety of scanning systems for the wood processing industry, at customer sites around the globe.Qualifications

  • Successful candidates will have a diploma, degree or trade qualification in the electronics/software field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Electronics troubleshooting skills
  • Competent in Windows OS and TCPIP networking
  • Hardware and software application knowledge
  • Machine vision, AI and x-ray experience (preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge of the Sawmill, Planermill and/or Plywood/OSB equipment (preferred but not required)
  • PLC knowledge and understanding (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work effectively with customers
  • Able to cross international borders and travel extensively to customer locations in North America and overseas
Responsibilities
  • Respond and communicate effectively with customers, engineers and project managers to ensure customer requirements are understood and resolved
  • Required to provide 24/7 pager support coverage on rotation
  • Work irregular hours and overtime as required
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of service calls and regular site visits to ensure equipment meets quality and safety standards
