Job DescriptionJob Title: Laboratory TechnicianLocation: Parksville, BCExperience: No prior mineral processing or analytical experience is required, however prior experience will be considered advantageous. Candidates with prior experience in a metallurgical or analytical laboratory setting are encouraged to apply.Salary: Hourly wage, starting at $16.00/hr. Entry LevelAbout The Company:Blue Coast Research Ltd (BCR) is a growing metallurgical testwork laboratory located in Parksville, British Columbia. Formed in early 2011, BCR is focussed on providing quality metallurgical testwork data and interpretation to the global minerals industry. Our business is geared towards precious and base metals mineral processing testwork with particular focus on froth flotation, leaching, physical separation and sample preparation.About The Position:BCR is seeking an entry level technician to join our growing testwork laboratory team. The successful candidate will be assigned to either the mineral processing, analytical or sample preparation laboratories depending on workload and laboratory requirements. The successful candidate may be required to perform crushing, blending, weighing, pulverising, metallurgical tests and chemical analysis of testwork samples. Prior experience in a scientific or industrial setting will be viewed favourably. The successful candidate should have a demonstrated knowledge of basic Microsoft Excel and have strong English written and spoken skills.The position will be a full-time hourly position based upon up to 40 work hours per week.
