Job Description

Did you know golf is a $16 billion industry in Canada, that it is the number one participation sport (even more than hockey!), and that one in five Canadians play golfIf you enjoy being of service to others, want to thrive in an inspired, community-minded team environment, and like flexible work hours, joining the Morningstar Golf Club team might be your best decision ever!We are currently seeking Outside Services team members who will join the Golf Operations team and play a key role in the provision of operational support services. Our Outside Services support the organization, coordination, and cleaning of power carts; ensure the Morningstar practice facilities are maintained and stocked to Golf Operations’ high standards; monitor the area around the Golf Shop, Clubhouse, and parking lot for misplaced items; and assist Morningstar Starters and Golf Shop Attendants as required (e.g. member club retrieval and storage). While many of these duties will be performed in the “background” of Golf Operations, our Outside Services team members are comfortable communicating with members and guests and, in so doing, will contribute to a positive and enjoyable Morningstar experience for all golfers.Qualifications and SkillsThe ideal candidate for this position would:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and social skills being friendly, outgoing, approachable, and genuinely interested in establishing positive relationships and providing excellent experiences for Morningstar members and guests.
  • Demonstrate an ability to “think on one’s feet” to quickly respond and adapt to changing operational priorities throughout the day
  • Demonstrate comfort and attentiveness driving a golf cart around a busy golf course
  • Be physically fit and able to lift baskets and boxes weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Demonstrate a good knowledge of the game of golf, rules of play, and league/tournament formats
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Morningstar Code of Conduct governing members, guests, and employees while on site
  • Be self-motivated, able to work alone and/or unsupervised, but also as an engaged member of the Morningstar Golf Operations team.
  • Having a background in customer service and golf experience is considered an asset
