Requisition ID: 35219Opportunity Type: PermanentEstimated Annual Salary: 250,000 - 300,000Type of Remuneration: APP- Alternative Payment PlanSite Visit & Reallocation Allowance Programs: Relocation Program; Site Visit ProgramDepartment of Health & Wellness Incentives: Family Medicine Bursary Program; Debt Assistance; Tuition Relief*About This Opportunity*Parrsboro Collaborative Emergency Centre is seeking a family physician to join their team which includes family physician(s), nurse practitioners, a family practice nurse, and administrative support staff to provide primary and urgent care in a variety of settings such as:

  • long term care
  • restorative care
  • in-home care
  • Parrsboro Regional High School
Responsibilities
  • ensure delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to practice patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
  • provide service deliverables to meet the needs of the community
  • facilitate a coordinated, integrated, and comprehensive team approach to client/patient care
  • support the CEC practice by building up patient capacity
  • participate in community health promotion, disease prevention, acute episodic care, and continuing care of chronic conditions
Expected Hours
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 46 week per year
  • four weeks vacation
  • two weeks continuing medical education (CME)
  • emergency medicine one day per week and one week per month
  • clinical services (shadow billable and non-shadow billable) 35 hours per week minimum
  • clinical support services (e.g. practice cupport, capacity building) 2.5 hours per week minimum
Qualifications
  • all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • all family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • interested physicians must obtain ATLS, ACLS, PALS and advanced Airway training
  • membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

This building was constructed around 1790 by original settlers, and at one time was the home of an early Prime Minister, Sir Charles Tupper.
