If this sounds enticing, apply for the position below!Role SummaryResponsible for the support of the manufacturing process required to maintain production of parts and for all manufacturing engineering aspects from the start of production through the life of the production part.Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the project Manager/quality and product engineering to insure the product is designed for Manufacturability.
  • Develop and define concepts and manufacturing processes for, and as an integral part of all new product introductions and product enhancement programs using advanced engineering techniques.
  • Support the manufacturing process in all aspects. (Quoting, manage the build, trouble shoot equipment.)
  • Creation of process flows and value -stream maps for the process to determine optimal process.
  • Complete pay back analysis to determine optimal automation based on volume.
  • Ability to be creative to determine new processes and insure existing equipment is utilized.
  • Ability to prioritize and follow up every open issue to closure.
  • Ability to be innovative in product design ideas and process ideas to support create VA/VE ideas.
  • Machine trouble shooting, understanding of machine logic / robot programming, tooling designs.
  • Ensure that established OEE quality, availability and performance standards are achieved with equipment launch
  • Where an established OEE or safety standard is not being met, it is the Manufacturing Engineer’s responsibility to provide support in the identification of the root cause and assist in taking the appropriate action.
  • Creation of standard work, operator instructions, PM plans, trouble shooting guides and equipment instructions.
  • Ability to concept the design of tooling and work with design to complete the details of tooling changes.
  • Ability to design in CAD /fully detail prints for toolroom would be a definite asset.
  • Evaluate and implement innovative, cost effective, safe, manufacturing processes and techniques which will improve the effectiveness of the manufacturing operations and business systems.
  • Implement error proofing plans to ensure acceptable RPN rating in PFMEA
  • Experience in automated assembly, robotic Mig welding, Robotic spot welding, Tube and wire forming would be a definite asset.

  • Comply with defined Business Management and Environmental Management Systems requirements.
  • Provide support for the continuous improvement initiatives within Techform.
  • Provide support in the attainment of Techforms operating system goals as outlined by the key graphs.
  • Carry out all duties focusing on the goal of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or designate.
Qualifications
  • Post secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required/or minimum of 10 years experience with Automated tooling/equipment.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in manufacturing or other related field
  • The ability to trouble-shoot equipment on the floor.
  • The ability to create and interpret complex blueprints with an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing is required;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is key;
  • Knowledge, tooling and sensors for equipment selection / Troubleshooting would be an asset.
  • Ability to create PFMEA and error proofing for product and process.
  • Understanding of wire forming, stamping process, metal forming, resistance and mig welding.
