What does the job look like Embark on a journey through time as the Indigenous Programming Interpreter at Lang Pioneer Village Museum, where you #39;ll play a pivotal role in delivering an immersive living history experience of exceptional quality! Immerse yourself at Aabnabbin Camp, wearing authentic attire and sharing Michi Saagiig heritage demonstrations and trades. At Aabnaabin you #39;ll engage visitors with your passion for sharing historic skills and knowledge and share the realities of how settlement impacted the local Indigenous people in the 19th century.As a seasonal team member, you #39;ll undertake a variety of tasks, including interpreting history, conducting tours and programming, showcasing domestic skills and early trades, working retail spaces, and contributing to other Museum operations as assigned. Flexibility is key, as your duties may range from working with large groups, handling cash, mentoring volunteers or youth, managing fires in warm climates, engaging in gardening or outdoor tasks, to providing behind-the-scenes assistance.This dynamic seasonal role invites individuals to be one of the faces of the Museum, actively participating in customer service and making each visitor #39;s experience truly memorable.   • You have a knowledge or interest in local Indigenous history
  • Have experience with Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg history
  • You have excellent customer service skills.

  • You have reliable transportation to the village – no bus route available.
