Job Description

Actalent is looking for a PROGRAM MANAGER for our client in the aerospace and defense industry for a long term opportunity in the Montreal, Quebec area.Details of Role:The program manager will manage the launch of a product from initial contract win and client SOW all the way to production and product launch. They will manage everything from client requirements, costs/financials, scheduling, resource allocation. They will also be doing risk management and find ways to mitigate it. Projects can be between $1 million to $1 billion in value.MUST have:

  • 5 years + of Program management experience
  • Experience bringing a product from initial client SOW to production/launch
  • Experience with multi-million dollar projects. Projects at MDA can go from 1 million to 1 billion
:
  • Oversees the activities of internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery.
  • Manages and prioritizes the project stream, working with internal customers to determine project definition and business requirements.
  • Provides budget analysis, resource allocation and coordination of project activities that may be across functional areas within the organization.
  • Assigns and monitors work of technical personnel, ensuring that project steps are in alignment with business objectives, on-time and within budget.
  • Monitors reliability and any internal issues that appear as a result of the project.
  • Develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Ensure correct staffing levels on programs and competency matching the project #39;s needs.
  • Prepares detailed schedules to track the program progress on a day-to-day basis, holds frequent and regular assessments of costs to date and estimates to complete and develops work-around plans as required to achieve cost and schedule objectives.
  • Identifies and manages program risks and opportunities.
  • Maintains hands-on control of the program through a process of regular program reviews, design reviews and audits, workarounds plan meeting, staff meetings, program meetings and the like.
  • Provides technical and administrative guidance, direction and decision-making to the program team.
  • Maintains visibility of the program to senior management through monthly program reviews and briefings as needed on subjects of importance to the Company.
