The Pointe-Claire site, located near Montreal, houses the head office for all Canadian operations, which includes the research & development, administration, sales, and marketing departments, including a production plant and a main distribution centre serving the entire country. With regional offices and manufacturing facilities located in Boisbriand, Quebec; Mississauga, Cambridge, Oakville, Sudbury, Ontario; Edmonton, Alberta; and Surrey, British Columbia, Sika Canada employs more than 400 people and is able to effectively share its international expertise with local customers and stakeholders.Exciting ChallengesThis position can be filled at our head office in Pointe-Claire, Quebec or at our offices in Oakville, Ontario.Reporting to the Supervisor, Compensation and Benefits, the incumbent is primarily responsible for the administration of the hourly employee payroll and the management of the human resources information systems.RESPONSIBILITIESPayroll component:Responsible for processing payroll for all hourly employees (union and non-union) of Sika Canada.Performs payroll data entry; balances and transmits data to payroll service provider and ensures accuracy.Ensure the creation and termination of employees in the payroll system.Make changes to employee profiles (vacation, salary adjustments, bonuses, taxable benefits).Verify and validate timesheets in accordance with applicable collective agreements.Maintenance of payroll and time and attendance system - ability to troubleshoot and resolve issuesAdministration of unionized pension/benefit plansBalance and submit union dues remittancesGenerate and prepare various payroll reportsRespond to employee questions regarding payroll and benefitsHRIS ComponentEnsure that our HRIS data is kept up to date by ensuring a high level of data quality and accuracyParticipate in the development and implementation of HRIS modulesWe Need Your SkillsEducation: DEC / College degree in administration or equivalentMinimum 3 years experience in a similar position in a unionized environment.Experience with the payroll system.Experience with ADP would be an asset.Apply applicable provincial and Canadian government regulations in the management of payroll and human resourcesMember of the Payroll Association of Canada.CPA designation an assetProficient with HR systems and very good knowledge of Excel;Bilingual (French and English, spoken and written as 55% of employees in Quebec).Organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Building Trust Every DayWorking at Sika can open up many exciting possibilities, and offers employees the opportunity to collaborate with people from all over the world.Many of our employees describe their working relationships at Sika as friendly, personable and sincere.
