Job Description

The Opportunity: Battle River Insurance Ltd / The Co-operators, in Ponoka is looking for an Associate Insurance Advisor, with the potential for specializing in Commercial Insurance, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, and Wealth products. Our Associate Insurance Advisors are insurance professionals trained in client service, sales and provide the highest level of service available anywhere in the industry.The Associate Insurance Advisor is a key player in the support and development of the Agency operation primarily through the service and sales of The Co-operators auto insurance, home insurance, commercial insurance, travel insurance, and may provide support for additional product lines as detailed above.Your Qualifications:

  • Support development of the agency through the sales and profitable growth of auto, home, and commercial insurance products.
  • Support the growth of the life, group and wealth management portfolio of the agency by identifying referral opportunities
  • Proactively complete client reviews focusing on auto, home, and commercial products
  • Prospect and cross sell all lines of business by completing needs analysis for clients
  • Complete front line risk assessment and selection, following underwriting guidelines
  • Complete home and commercial inspections as required
  • Achieve individual goals for client service, sales and productivity and contribute to the achievement of sales and growth goals
  • Develop annual marketing plans outlining strategies and activities to meet goals in each product area of responsibility
  • Support programs to build multi-client relationships.
  • Respond to and investigate client questions and concerns, resolve client complaints and escalate issues appropriately
  • Support the agency team in their daily activities
  • Sales and service experience or related business experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of auto, property, and commercial insurance products is an asset
  • Skilled in verbal & written communication, organization, time management, client service, decision making
  • The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office
  • The successful candidate will be subject to a Criminal Record and Consumer History background check
