The OpportunityAs the premier agriculturally based eventing facility in Western Canada, the Calnash Ag Event Center in Ponoka, AB. is seeking a General Manager.As the General Manager you will oversee and hold the ultimate responsibility & accountability for all facets of the day-to-day facility operations and events. From event scheduling, budgeting, producer contract negotiation to human resources this is a senior leadership role that will assist the board of directors in planning and executing the future direction of the facility.About youAs a leader, you will have strong interpersonal skills, be self motivated to succeed and maximize the assets you manage. As a delegator, who can prioritize & organize operations, you can effectively build and lead a team. You possess the ability to successfully promote & negotiate with prospective & existing customers, sponsors, donors, and suppliers to build longstanding relationships.You will have experience in general business management, event promotion & productions. Preference will be given to those who have an Animal husbandry (primarily equine) and related equipment operations experience and/or background.About usGoverned by an active Board of Directors, The Calnash Ag Event Center is a 60,000+ sq. ft. indoor ag Eventing facility, featuring a 130x240 indoor arena, a 110x140 warmup pen, seating for 600 spectators, fully supported by a 280+ stall stable, outdoor arena and covered livestock handling systems. In operation since 2012, it has developed a solid reputation in the industry with promoters and contestants for a world class facility & experience. Located centrally and supported by a community focused on Western Heritage, bookings in the facility are sought after.
