Job Description

Position: ServerNax #39;id #39; Pub, located in Kwa #39;lilas Hotel, is looking for an experienced Food and Beverage Servers, Bartenders, and Hosts to join our team in Port Hardy, B.C.!The ideal candidate for this position has experience serving in a high volume restaurant and is an inherent people person. Food and Beverage staff will work in Nax #39;id Pub and assist with banquets/events in Kwa #39;lilas Hotel.Located in the traditional territories of the Kwakiutl people;quot;Kwa #39;lilas quot; translates toquot;a place to sleep quot;. Named by the Gwa #39;sala-Nakwaxda #39;xw elders in hopes that guests may find peaceful rest after a day of exploration on North Vancouver Island.What We Offer:

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains quality standards for the hotel food and beverage operations, including greeting patrons, making them feel welcome, and handling basic inquiries.
  • Provides customer service through the completion of routine duties and tasks such as taking, relaying, and serving food and/or beverage orders, providing product knowledge, handling cash, credit and debit card transactions in accordance with Hotel Policies
  • Checks on guest satisfaction and follows up on requests where possible and appropriate Stocks supplies and maintains inventory levels
  • Demonstrates a customer service attitude with internal / external contacts
  • Cleaning tables, counters and glass ware
  • Performing opening and closing duties as required
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications:
  • Industry-specific certifications such as FOODSAFE and Serving It Right
  • Previous experience in a fast paced restaurant
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Cash handling experience an asset
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • High attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience as a team player and ability to multi task
  • Wine knowledge considered a strong asset.
Job Types: Permanent, Part-time, Full-timeSalary: From $17.25 per hourSchedule:
  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Vancouver Island, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
  • Serving: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
  • Serving it Right (preferred)
