Job Description

The OpportunityThe Production Scheduler coordinates all production planning for the plant ensuring that the needs of the customers are met, and that plant and equipment is used as efficiently as possible. The Production Scheduler is a key member of the Plant Operations team.A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:

  • Establish a Capacity Analysis to determine low and high-capacity periods and to determine capacity limitations
  • Monitor and maintain efficient levels of finished goods inventory to meet customer orders and maintain accurate records in the corporate computer systems
  • Prepare a weekly production schedule that meets all customer requirements and utilizes equipment and labour in the most efficient manner, ensuring optimum results
  • Prioritize production requirements daily, if needed, to best meet customer demands
  • Communicate with customers regularly to ensure that all customer requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner
  • Coordinate with the Shipping Department, all shipments direct to customers and to outside storage locations and prepare export documents for all finished goods shipping outside of Canada
  • Prepare all invoices for finished goods
  • Manage the Port Perry Chep pallet program
  • Supply detailed weekly production estimates (in kgs.) to the Finance Manager
  • Maintain the Downtime Summary data base
  • Back up the Accounts Payable Coordinator in calculating and entering the costs of weekly production into the Manufacturing System.
  • Interface with suppliers for forecasting as required

What you will bring:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field
  • 3 to 5 years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills
  • Self-directed and professional
  • Computer proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets
  • Good mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong problem solving, prioritization and organization skills
